While we did see some improvement on city streets today, there are still several areas of concern both in and out of town. Heber Springs School District will be out of school on Friday, January 30, 2026, as many bus routes and neighborhood roads remain unsafe due to lingering icy conditions. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority.

We will continue to monitor conditions and will provide daily updates regarding any further closures. Please stay warm and safe during this winter weather.

The warming center at Renew Church is open. For more information, please contact Connie Moody at 501-206-7777.

Happy Thanksgiving
Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces past and present.

Veterans Day was first observed in 1919, marking the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Originally called Armistice Day, it became a national holiday in 1938 and was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to honor all who served in peace and in war.

From the beaches of Normandy to the mountains of Afghanistan, our veterans have defended freedom, upheld justice, and shown unmatched courage and sacrifice.

At Heber Springs Schools, we are grateful for every veteran including the many heroes in our Panther community who have worn the uniform of our nation.

Thank you for your service.
Thank you for your sacrifice.
We honor you today and every day.

Playoffs

Heber Springs Schools Has Something to Celebrate! Our students, teachers, and staff have achieved something amazing, and we’re proud to share the results!

For the first time ever, the state has assigned letter grades to districts based on accountability data from grades 3–10 and graduation rates.
Heber Springs has officially been rated an “A” District!
We are one of only 22 districts in the entire state to earn this top rating!

Heber Springs Elementary will receive $31,158 in state reward money for being in the top 6–10% for growth, and

Heber Springs High School will receive $22,487 for ranking in the top 6–10% for performance!

This accomplishment is a direct reflection of the passion, dedication, and excellence that our students and staff bring to our classrooms every single day.

Thank you to our entire Heber Springs community for believing in our students and supporting our schools. Together, we are an A-rated district — and we’re just getting started!
